Born in Santa Rosa, Ca. Sexton grew up in a creative family which cultivated his eclectic skills. From music to carpentry, Sexton had a very colorful childhood. Art was just a way of life in his family and a means of communication. He excelled in all his art classes, which also included after school programs. He also obtained an apprenticeship working after school with artist J.D. Moore. At the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. he continued his art training. Sexton then went on to an apprenticeship in Sarasota, Fl. with sculptor John Chamberlain and painter Wilder Rich.

After moving to Tulsa in 1997, Sexton began to abandon his previous training and experiment with new forms and styles. Becoming an established artist in the Tulsa area, Sexton has been able to exhibit his work frequently. His artwork has been collected by private and corporate patrons alike. He is currently represented by art dealer M.A. Doran. "Tulsa is a good place for me. It allows me to be productive and gives me the influence and isolation I need to grow in."
